Delhi was always known as the political capital of India and Mumbai as the financial capital of India. Delhi lags behind some cities in the field of Business and Industry but nevertheless plays host to several industries of various domains. As per the green initiative of the City, several polluting industries have been moved out of the city boundaries. But this has not stopped, the Industries from following the age old trend of setting their corporate offices at Delhi. Commercial hubs like Connaught place by themselves generate revenues in excess of several thousand crores in a month.

Most of the prominent Banks of India and Banks of foreign origin or their subsidiaries have Branches or Head offices in Delhi.

Almost all types of Companies exist in Delhi covering the entire spectrum of the Industry.

Traditional markets like Chandni Chowk, Sarojini Market , Lajpat Rai Market provide a platform focused in specific industries. Markets like Khan Market, Defence Colony cater more to the elite of the city including expats. The food and entertainment industry does very well in the Capital city which plays host to people from various cultures, countries , age groups etc. The Delhi stock exchange like its Mumbai counterpart gives a tremendous boost to the Trading industry. Business is taking giant leaps in the form of Business hubs like Malls, Trendy markets, Hotels, Movie Halls, and Retail.
